Simple property with unit

Version : 001 (16/10/00)

Definition

The concept of 'Simple property with unit' defines a simple property with a unit that can be used in a PropertySet. The 'Simple property with unit' is otherwise exactly like the 'Simple property' but it has the ability to also define a unit for the value. The value in the concept of 'Simple property' also has a unit that is defined in the unit assignment on the project level. The 'Simple property with unit' should only be used if the unit that is used is different than the 'globally' defined unit for the measure value. For example, if the measure value is IfcPositiveLengthMeasure the default value is to use the global LengthMeasure unit defined on the project level. If the global length unit is 'mm' and the property for some reason needs to use 'm', then the unit override has to be defined on the property level.
